The guitar is from the personal collection of famed guitarist Bernie Marsden (see photos) and was originally purchased through the auction featuring some of Bernie's guitars. The guitar was also appraised by Gruhn's guitars in Nashville who dated the guitar to around 1937, however the FON has been obscured, making this difficult to determine for sure. The guitar has previously had repair work done to the top and has been oversprayed (photographed) as well as replacement tuners and a replacement tailpiece.
